Silent Auction- “That prize they give away in Sweden for being out standing in one’s field”

“That prize they give away in Sweden
for being out standing in one’s field”
Rudy WL Montoya

This figure of the scarecrow is inspired by the animated short film, La Leyenda Del Espantapajaros, written and directed by Marco Besas. This story observes the character of the scarecrow and his experience of alienation as a result of preconceived notions about his identity stemming from his purpose. This character doesn't want to be the figure of "Foe to the Crow", yet his reason for existing is such, which leads to his being misunderstood and alienated. This scarecrow, “out standing in his field,” is hopeful and peaceful symbol to those who have ever experienced this alienation.
